The Speaking Center is here to help you improve your communication skills in English. To make sure every student benefits, please follow these guidelines:

Who Can Join?

The Speaking Center is open only to ELS students.

Booking & Attendance

Session length: Each appointment lasts 15 minutes.
Booking: Please book your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
Weekly limit: You may book up to 3 sessions per week.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel, please do so at least 3 hours before your session by unregistering from your slot and emailing the Speaking Center Coordinator. (toktam.binabaji@tedu.edu.tr)
No-Show Policy: Missing 3 sessions without notice will result in losing booking privileges for the rest of the term.

Punctuality

Please arrive on time (ideally 5 minutes early).
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your session may be marked as a No-Show.

Preparation

Come prepared with topics or questions you’d like to discuss.
Remember, the center’s main focus is speaking practice. Exam preparation or other tasks are secondary.

Etiquette

Keep your phone silent or switched off during the session.
No food or drink in the room (water is fine).
Respect your peers and the instructor—what is said in the session stays confidential.
